Che cosa si conserva

Le conversazioni della chat sono conservate sul nostro server, una per persona, con il loro testo, le fonti citate e l'esito del firewall delle informazioni certe. La persona di una conversazione è verificata dal server a ogni interrogazione, mai dal browser.

Oltre alle conversazioni, il server tiene una riga per persona con lo stato della guida al primo accesso: solo il fatto che l'hai vista o saltata, e quando. Serve perché «la prima volta» valga per te e non per il dispositivo — altrimenti la guida ricomparirebbe a ogni tablet o computer nuovo. Non contiene testo, e cade dopo lo stesso periodo di conservazione delle conversazioni: chi torna dopo dodici mesi rivede la guida.

Per quanto tempo

Le conversazioni sono conservate per un massimo di 365 giorni (dodici mesi) dall'ultima volta che le usi, poi vengono cancellate da sole dalla potatura automatica.

Il numero dei giorni è quello che la potatura esegue davvero: è letto dal codice (servo/api/chat_conversazioni.py, GIORNI_DI_CONSERVAZIONE), non deciso da questo testo. Se il numero cambia, cambia anche qui.

Che cosa NON si conserva

I testi delle conversazioni non finiscono mai nel giornale del servizio; il registro d'uso conserva solo quando, quale chiave, quale modello e motore, stato, tempi e conteggi, mai il testo delle domande o delle risposte.

I tuoi diritti

Puoi cancellare una conversazione o tutte: la cancellazione è davvero una cancellazione (la riga sparisce dal disco), non un nascondimento. Puoi anche rinominare le conversazioni. Cancellare le conversazioni non rimette la guida al primo accesso: la puoi riaprire quando vuoi dal pulsante in alto.

What is retained

Chat conversations are retained on our server, one per person, with their text, the cited sources and the outcome of the information-certainty firewall. The owner of a conversation is verified by the server on every request, never by the browser.

Besides conversations, the server keeps one row per person with the state of the first-run guide: only the fact that you have seen or skipped it, and when. It is there so that «the first time» applies to you and not to the device — otherwise the guide would show up again on every new tablet or computer. It holds no text, and it is deleted after the same retention period as conversations: if you come back after twelve months you see the guide again.

For how long

Conversations are retained for up to 365 days (twelve months) since you last used them, then they are deleted automatically by the pruning job.

The number of days is the one the pruning job really executes: it is read from the code (servo/api/chat_conversazioni.py, GIORNI_DI_CONSERVAZIONE), not decided by this text. If the number changes, it changes here too.

What is NOT retained

Conversation texts never end up in the service journal; the usage log keeps only when, which key, which model and engine, status, times and counts, never the text of questions or answers.

Your rights

You can delete one conversation or all of them: deletion is a real deletion (the row disappears from disk), not a hiding. You can also rename conversations. Deleting conversations does not bring the first-run guide back: you can reopen it any time from the button at the top.
